Warrana lunata Middelfart, 2002

Description: Shell minute. Prodissoconch small, domed, fairly smooth with thickened rim. Shape triangular dorsally, semicircular ventrally, higher than wide, umbo posterior to midline. Anterodorsal margin convex, posterior straight. Escutcheon wide, lunule narrower. Exterior with up to 50 strong, close set commarginal ribs. Interior with muscle scars well-defined, pallial line continuous, margin smooth. Hinge strong. Ligament internal. Shell translucent to opaque white.

Size: Up to 2.6 mm in length.

Distribution: Almost the entire Australian coastline, except SA and Tas.

Habitat: Subtidal, 8-294 m. Not known from beach washup. The AMS collection holds 72 lots of this species, suggesting it is relatively common.

Comparison: This species is identified by the large number of close-set commarginal ribs.
