Warrana minuta (Laseron, 1953) Description: Shell minute. Prodissoconch relatively large, domed, smooth with thickened rim. Shape triangular dorsally, semicircular ventrally, higher than wide, umbo posterior to midline. Anterodorsal margin straight to weakly convex, posteodorsal straight to weakly concave. Escutcheon and lunule wide. Exterior with 17-19 strong, wide commarginal ribs. Interior smooth, margin smooth. Hinge strong. Ligament internal. Shell translucent to opaque white. Size: Up to 0.96 mm in length. Distribution: From Port Curtis, Qld, southwards to Cronulla, Sydney, NSW. Habitat: Known from beach washup and down to 210 m depth. The AMS collection holds hold 22 lots, suggesting this species is only moderately common. Comparison: This species is characterised by its very small size – always less than 1 mm in length – and strong, coarse commarginal ribs. Synonymy: None.
