Cunanax pisum (Hedley, 1908) Description: Shell small and solid. Prodissoconch (Fig. 2) low, dome-shaped, initially pitted then smooth with sharp rim. Shape extended anteriorly, umbo behind midline, anterior and posterior dorsal margins straight or weakly concave. Lunule and escutcheon long and broad. Exterior with up to 36, strong, close, commarginal ribs, and 18-21 weaker broad, radial ribs, more developed ventrally. Interior smooth, with strongly crenulate margin. Hinge strong. Ligament internal. Shell opaque white. Size: Up to 9 mm in length. Distribution: Fraser Island, Qld, southwards to Ulladulla, NSW. Habitat: Known from beach washup and down to 201 m depth. There are 29 lots in the AMS collection, indicating this is a fairly common species. Comparison: This species is recognised by its relatively large size and presence of radial and commarginal sculpture. Synonymy: Condylocuna moringa Laseron, 1953, from off North Head, Sydney, is a previously recognised synonym.
