Prionovolva brevis (Sowerby, 1828)

Description: Shell smooth and glossy; dorsal surface with weak spiral striae at both ends. Outer lip nearly semicircular, folded in, thickened externally. Outer lip denticulate along entire length, with denticles extending across full width of outer lip; central 5-6 denticles very strong and visible in side view. Inner lip of aperture smooth. Anterior and posterior canals with strong folds on inner edge. Colour white, fawn or pale purple with outer lip white.

Size: Up to 19 mm in length.

Distribution: Endemic to Australia; North-western WA to Crookhaven, NSW.

Habitat: Low tide and below, on soft corals. Rare in NSW.
