All described species of the family known from NSW are catalogued here, with the exception of the following three species. There are a dozen or so undescribed, mainly deep water, species not included here.

Amaea acuminata (Sowerby, 1844). Indo-West Pacific; in Australia, Karratha, WA, around northern Australia to Iluka, NSW. Only one NSW specimen (Iluka, NSW) in Australian Museum collection.

Amaea martinii (Wood, 1828). Indo-West Pacific; in Australia, Torres Strait, Queensland, southwards to Iluka, NSW. Only one NSW specimen (Iluka, NSW) in Australian Museum collection.

Epitonium pallasi (Kiener, 1838). Indo-West Pacific. Wilson (1993, p. 278) reported E. pallasi as far south as Port Stephens, NSW, but its occurrence south of Hervey Bay, Queensland, is based on only one specimen, probably mislocalised, in the Australian Museum.
